A person we call a doctor is someone who has experience in medicine and is certified to practice medicine so that he can help maintain and restore the physical and mental health of a person who is not feeling fine. A doctor has to interact with his patients, prescribe medicines, and diagnose medical problems and treat all kinds of illnesses or injuries. Medicine is a really wide field that has many areas a student can specialize in. Depending on the area of specialization a doctor examines his patients so that they can diagnose and treat health conditions and diseases. Some doctors work in general medicine. Others may specialize in an area such as Anaesthetics, Cardiology, Dermatology, Surgery, Emergency medicine, Neurology Obstetrics and gynecology, Trauma and orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Pathology, Psychiatry, and Radiology, etc.
An engineer is someone who utilizes various rules and theories of science, math, and technology to solve problems. In today’s world, we can see engineering everywhere around us. It helps to improve the ways we work, live, travel, and communicate on a day-to-day basis. Scientists and inventors are the ones who often get the credit for innovations happening in the modern world that can help us advance our human civilization, but it is actually engineers who make these innovations available to the people.
Doctors need to meet and talk to patients to diagnose and treat illnesses or injuries. The roles and responsibilities of a doctor always depend on the area of his specialization. Many of the core duties of a doctor are monitor and care for patients in hospitals, listen to patients to gather required information regarding symptoms, perform diagnostics to determine the problem, advise precautions and medicines, follow-up care of patients, work alone or in coordination with physician assistants, pharmacists, nurses, EMTs, and other health professionals if required.
Engineers are the ones who design, assign, develop, test, rectify, modify, install, inspect and maintain all types of products and systems. They also design various types of machinery, skyscrapers, high-rise buildings and oversee public works and solve problems on so many other levels as well. They also recommend and specify the materials and processes required, supervise manufacturing and construction, check for any possible failures, consulting services. They also work as teachers as they are experts in their field for various courses in colleges and universities. There are six major branches of engineering: mechanical, civil, chemical, geotechnical, electrical, management, and under each branch, there are hundreds of various subcategories.
The only similarity between these professions is they need a lot of dedication and work as one is a life-saving field and the other one is necessary for human advancement.
The salary of these professions depends on the region of practice and the qualification and experience you have.
